The After School Enrichment classes are conveniently timed so students can attend immediately after school. Students who are attending an After School Enrichment (ASE) class should go to their ASE class location directly after school. 

If your child attends Kid’s Country, please send your child directly to the class or have an authorized adult sign the child out and bring them to the class.  Some instructors are able to pick–up from Kids Country by request, please see the individual course descriptions for availability. All instructors will bring children to Kids Country at the end of class if requested.

Berkeley Chess
Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it's FUN! Berkeley Chess School has been teaching State Chess Champions since 1982.

Science Beginnings- careers for kids
Find your passion and make it your career 1.Explore the career of an astronaut. Take a walk on the red planet along with the rover, Curiosity. 2. Explore the career of an inventor. Learn about Benjamin Franklin and his inventions! Build a simple imaginative invention.3. Explore the career of an archaeologist. Be an archaeologist for a day. Science Beginnings - Hands on Discoveries: Magnetism, Static electricity, Movement
This class teaches concepts such as density, miscibility, viscosity and fluorescence in a fun Halloween theme environment. Make your own bubbling lava lamps as you dive into density. Spectacular dry ice experiments introduces to sublimation. What's atomic slime? Explore polymers and make green slime. It is glow-at-dark science for some spooky fun! Take home experiments. You also get a worksheet explaining the science behind each experiment and links to investigate further. A $10 supply fee is payable to the instructor.

skyhawks sports academy multiple sport program
The class is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of sports in one setting. Each week participants will learn the rules and essentials of a different sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. These sports include soccer, baseball, basketball, dodge ball, kick ball . At the end your program your child will come away with new skills, new friends and a passion for sports! All equipment is provided. Participant -to-coach ratio is approximately 10:1.

Little Medical School brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way. Our after school program encourages children to explore the exciting and inspiring world of medicine. Using interactive demonstrations and games, kids learn how the body and organs work, how to use instruments that real doctors use, administer first aid, and even tie knots like a real surgeon. Each child gets their own stethoscope that really works.

The Force is strong in this class. Build complex machines and structures based on the best designs from a galaxy far, far away. Play-Well's Jedi instructors reinforce key engineering concepts such as geartrains, worm drives, pneumatics, eccentric motion and more as students tap into the powerful forces of imagination and engineering.

fun with aerospace engineering
Have fun building hands-on projects that fly! Students will engage in projects such as building a Rocket or a Helicopter, and will learn the science behind flight, aerodynamics, and propulsion. Students take home completed projects to show off to parents and siblings! This fun class exposes students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), the scientific method, planning, prioritization, time management, and organization. Students will gain a better understanding for how things fly and stay afloat in the sky, and will learn how to break down and analyze problems. $35 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

fitness for fun
Get kids moving to build strength and confidence. Whether kids play for sports or recreation, they will learn a variety of fitness skills and movement patterns including strength, coordination, balance, speed, agility, and flexibility. This fun fitness class will teach kids how to build a healthy and active lifestyle and can help build confidence, healthy muscles, joints, and bones. Each class will focus on a warmup, skill of the day, and games. We will also end with a proper cool down including yoga stretches and mindfulness exercises. Designed for all fitness levels.

It's never too early to encourage artistic talent! If your child loves to draw in color, this is the class! Children will learn advanced drawing techniques, detailing and shading with colored pencils and art sticks to create a work worth framing and displaying. public speaking - Structure your Speech (PS 202)
The aim for this class is to have each participant write a well-structured engaging speech. Kids at this age usually find it challenging to organize their many! ideas. This class focuses in helping participants give a clear structure to their thoughts. Students study how to write speeches on different kinds of topics and for different occasions. They learn to write speeches on descriptive, expository, narrative, process, cause and effect types of topics as well as speeches for social occasions and ceremonies. They practice speaking with confidence.
