The After School Enrichment classes are conveniently timed so students can attend immediately after school. Students who are attending an After School Enrichment (ASE) class should go to their ASE class location directly after school.

If your child attends Kid’s Country, please send your child directly to the class or have an authorized adult sign out the child and bring him/her to the class. Some instructors are able to pick–up from Kids Country by request, please see the individual course descriptions for availability. All instructors will bring children to Kids Country at the end of class if requested.

STEM Challenge with LEGO
Level up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO®! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as Belt-Drive Cars, Truss Bridges, Rail Racers, and Pneumatic Forklifts! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. Session 1 is not a prerequisite for Session 2.

This program works by getting children involved in the game immediately. Specifically designed nets and color coded balls (Red, Orange, Green) created by the USTA have revolutionized the game for beginner players. Within the first hour of stepping on to the court, children are playing the game, rallying with one another, and having fun. Players gain confidence as they see immediate progress, and are enthusiastic about continuing to play and improve. Student to instructor ratio is 6:1.

Mad Science - Wacky Wonders
Come explore the science behind everything around us! We will learn the science behind optical illusions, magic tricks, and movie effects. We will discover how and why the toys we all know and love work the way they do. We will use science to explain how we can stay connected with friends and family over long distances. Help us use science to solve the mystery of chemistry! With hands on activities we will explore mysterious mixtures and surprising solutions. We will need to put our mystery solving skills to the test as we use science to solve the mystery of Mr. Baker's stolen cookie recipe. After we help solve this tasty mystery, we will learn about the science of our taste buds and get interactive experience with blind taste tests! As we discover the science around us, you will take something home with you after every class to help you continue your investigations at home!

Minecraft Madness
The series focuses on the implementation of simple commands and how to manipulate those commands to affect programs. This course is designed to introduce concepts widely used in the programming industry. As they participate in this session, students will work in teams of two to learn about a range of STEM topics as well as other traditional subjects such as social studies, while developing important skills of digital citizenship, cooperation, and leadership.

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self-esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it's FUN! Art & Science: Experiments with Art
Our young artists and scientists will have a blast exploring a wide variety of science topics through art projects. They will discover the connection between art and science with various art forms: painting, printing, crafting, sculpting, and stop motion animating. Participants will unleash their creativity while learning the science themes through a variety of projects. Public Speaking - Advanced Debates and Public Speaking
This is an excellent course to that builds upon the presentation and foundational debate skills in preparation of joining the competitive Debate or Speech Teams of their schools. This class is a combo course of Advanced Public Speaking and Speech Writing and Debates. Each student will learn to write a well-structured and engaging speech, along with different styles such as narrative, descriptive, cause and effect, compare and contrast, process analysis, and persuasive. In debate, students will argue on a variety of their age appropriate topics in various formats.

Narrative Essay
Students will learn to write the narrative essay, which focuses on developing a student's ability to write in the first person and to follow a linear narrative structure. Students will write three- to five-paragraph essays. They also will learn how to plan, outline, and revise their essays. No class 2/13, 2/14, 2/20, 3/3, 3/6 - 3/7.

Claymation: Animation Production Class
Bring your characters and stories to life! We will create drawings of characters as inspiration to build 3D clay sculptures. Participants will learn basics of animation production such as timeline and storyboarding. They will create their own storyboards and use iPad apps to turn their story into REAL animation! $20 material fee required.

Story Writing
A rocket ship blasting to another planet, a detective sleuthing to crack the case, a sorcerer summoning an entire world. Students of the Story Writing class in Lekha's School of Creative Writing will learn about the genres these characters come from and how they can write stories of their own. From combining animals to create new characters to mapping out whole new worlds, Lekha's classes emphasize using the child's imagination and creativity to create new stories.
