CAMP CENTRAL SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

In our boot camp athletes will be introduced to a total fitness program. Kids will play games and movement exercises on coordination, balance and different muscle groups including core. We are using a variety of props to keep kids motivated and working on their endurance.

Children will learn beginning gymnastics and tumbling skills, use a variety of gymnastics equipment, participate in a variety of group activities, and are introduced to strength and flexibility exercises all while having fun!

Spend a week learning the world's most popular sport in a fun, recreational environment. Learn and practice soccer skills including: dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and age specific defense. Everyone is a winner as the week's fun culminates in an age appropriate "World Cup" torunament. All particiants will receive a ball and jersey and MUST wear SHIN GUARDS.

This fun fitness camp includes key components for the ultimate fit kid. Key components include functional sports conditioning that will focus on balance, core work, strength, speed and agility, flexibility, coordination, injury prevention, and endurance. Each camp session will be different and will include a variety of exciting activities including yoga, circuit training, nutritional activities, strength training, obstacle courses, zumba, speed and agility, balance training, and relay races! Keeping kids active with a variety of exercises has shown to improve overall health and fitness, stay focused on academics, build self-confidence, and reach their full potential for life.

Students will participate in a variety of games, activities and/or sports that focus on teamwork, having fun and being physically active. Games are unique and cooperative in nature. A different game will be played each camp such as baseball, lacrosse, flag football, cricket and basketball.

This camp is directed by Ohlon College head men’s basketball coach John Peterson and his talented staff . Coach Peterson and/or his staff will cover offensive & defensive concepts in addition to 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 games. Detailed and precise teaching of the shooting fundamentals, including grip, ball placement, set up, balance, release and follow through. The shooting skill and drill work will be supplemented by competitive shooting games, 1 on 1 games, 3 on 3 games and 5 on 5 games where the emphasis will be shot preparation and ready to shoot. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

Camp Director, Donna Runyon, Head Softball Coach at Ohlone College is entering her 15th season at the helm of the perennially ranked Ohlone softball team. The 4 time Coast Conference Coach of the Year is an excellent teacher and motivator. Coach Runyon and her players will instruct the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and team play.

Skyhawks Cheerleading teaches the essential skills to lead crowds and support the home team! Learn proper hand & body movements and jumping techniques. Lacrosse combines basic skills used in soccer, basketball and hockey into one fast-paced game. Summer camp is a week long program geared towards introduction of basic badminton. This emphasis includes the rules of the game, including the new 21 point rally scoring system. Basic strokes, racket grips, and game play.

The camp includes chess instruction for all levels. Emphasis is on the joy of the game but with a serious eye to the student's progress. The program includes daily instruction and play plus tournaments and prizes. New material will be presented during each week of camp. Berkeley Chess School has been teaching State Chess Champions since 1982.

This camp will totally immerse you in the sport, giving you a high level of instruction and practice time in each skill area. Fundamental skills and proper mechanics will be taught for attacking, passing, digging, setting, serving and blocking. Fundamental training will include a strong emphasis on the hands, footwork, contact and movement skills needed for consistent and accurate delivery and control of the ball. This is an excellent camp for players of all levels; players are grouped and/or coached by age and experience. The camp will devote a different skill for each day and finish up with competition play that will be age appropriate. It is our hope that the camp will increase your love for volleyball. Each participant will receive a Club V.I.P. t-shirt.

Learn the basic fundamentals of ice skating. Activities also include games, 'Build a Summer Snowman', ice painting, and more. You will even have your picture taken on the Zamboni Ice Resurfacing Machine and learn a simple choreography for a show at the end of the week. All parents must drop off their children on the first day of camp to fill out emergency contact information and attend a brief parent's orientation.

Rhythmic gymnastics camp includes: stretching exercises; classes in tumbling, ballet /creative dance; work on elements and routines with ribbons, jump rope, hoop, ball and clubs. Learn body sculpting, muscle toning work with a partner; games to develop coordination; and a seminar on nutrition. Serious dancers and gymnast will work on new conditioning techniques and elements from next year routines.

Skateboarding is a fun and exciting sport that is easy to learn and a great way to be active. This camp will strengthen your balance and improve your skills. San Ramon Soccer Club (Ages 7-12)
Instructor: SRSC Coaches
Directed by the highly qualified coaches from the San Ramon Soccer Club, the campers will participate in a 5 day camp focused on skill development by utilizing tactics, drills and games to learn and develop their soccer knowledge. This camp is geared toward the recreational player between the ages of 8 and 12. We will accept a slightly younger player upon approval. We look to teach the basic FUNdamentals of soccer in a very exciting, safe, and fun environment.
Monday- Individual skills/dribbling: This day is to get the players more familiar and comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Tuesday- Passing: This day starts to introduce how to play in a small group, while giving more opportunities to develop their individual skills.
Wednesday- Shooting: This day introduces proper shooting techniques so players can be more effective in finishing or kicking longer passes.

Thursday & Friday: These 2 days will provide an opportunity for all the players to play small an activity which is a series of small sided games that allows for the rotation of players every couple of minutes. All participants will receive a camp shirt.

Kickball, Dodgeball, Capture the Flag - You know them from playgrounds, backyards and family get-togethers. Skyhawks has taken all of your favorite games and combined them into a one of a kind Multi-Sport Camp. Your young athlete will learn team strategy in addition to the rules of the game while incorporating sportsmanship and teamwork into this action packed program. Camp instruction will begin at 1pm - 12-1pm is optional attendance, as this will be a supervised lunch hour.
