SENIOR CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The charge of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Committee, as approved by the San Ramon City Council, is as follows: 

• Advise the staff and Parks and Community Services Commission on the delivery of various senior citizen recreation and community service activities that provide recreational, social, educational and health services to the San Ramon Senior Center participants.

• Provide recommendations to the staff and Commission on senior citizen programs and San Ramon Senior Center policies.

• Appoint appropriate sub-committees as necessary to further the work of the Center’s programs and efforts of the Committee.

• Receive input from the senior citizen community, including input from other individuals and organizations on issues relevant to the senior citizen community.

• Act as liaison for senior citizen issues to governmental and private organizations.

• Advocate senior citizen issues within the entire community.

• Identify problems of service and recommend appropriate solutions.

• Be a channel of communication between staff, Senior Center participants and the senior citizen community.

• Provide feedback to staff on the assessment of current and future needs of the senior citizen community for the purpose of program planning.

• Minimum age requirement is 55 years.
