What is the Location and Business Hours for the Building and Safety Services Division?

Building and Safety Services Division is located at:
2226 Camino Ramon, San Ramon, CA 94583-1350

Office Hours are:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Tuesday and Thursday - 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Inspector’s Counter Hours (In person or by telephone):
Combination Building Inspectors: Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday – 7:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M.; Thursday’s 7:00 A.M. to 7:30 A.M.
Code Enforcement Officers: Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday – 8:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M.; Thursday’s 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.

Directions: Take Crow Canyon exit - East. Right on Camino Ramon. City Hall is on the right just past the shopping center. Building Division is located in the center of the building.

When is a Building, Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing Permit required for a single family dwelling?

It is easier to answer when a permit is not required. These four documents list when a Building, Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing permit is not required.

When is special inspection required?

Special Inspection is required by Chapter 17 of the 2007 California Building Code.
