San Ramon Youth Symphony - MOVES VIRTUAL!

Youth Symphony Junior Prepatory Program (Online Virtual) (Act#7499)

Instructor: David Sego 

This course in the fundamentals of musicianship will prepare instrumentalists for future participation in the Youth Symphony. Students will undergo an intensive training in rhythm and note reading, scales, ear training, and music theory, as well as instrument-specific techniques for good tone production and rhythmic articulation. This technical work will be supplemented with an overview of classical music history, including guided listening and analysis of representative works from each stylistic period of the standard symphonic repertoire. This course will set students up with the fundamentals for musical excellence!

No audition required - open to all beginner and intermediate players of the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone. Students must have their own instrument and must have completed at least one year of study on their instrument.

$25 supply fee for music and materials payable to instructor.

Youth Symphony Junior Prepatory Program (Online Virtual) (Act#7953)

Level: Intermediate/Advanced

The Youth Symphony, directed by David Sego of Galileo Music Academy, will prepare and present a virtual concert of classical music from the standard symphonic repertoire via multi-track recording. Students will receive group and individual coaching twice weekly, focusing on recording techniques. At the end of the course, each student will submit a video recording of their part to be edited together to produce an orchestral performance. Virtual concert watch party online 12/16/20 at 7:30 PM. 

Open to intermediate/advanced students who play the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba.

$25 supply fee for music and materials payable to instructor.

Admission by audition only. For returning students, no audition is necessary if you have participated within the last 2 years. For information on audition requirements and/or to request an audition, contact David Sego. david_sego@hotmail.com

Please do not register until after your audition and after receiving permission from David.

Deadline to request an audition: 8/31/20

Auditions by appointment on Zoom 9/14/20 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Students will audition live on camera after a brief interview with Mr. Sego.

San Ramon Symphonic Band

San Ramon Symphonic Band

-Band rehearses Tuesday nights 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Amador Rancho Center

Be a part of the San Ramon Symphonic Band, led by conductors Larry Colon & Bryan Holbrook. Band is open to musicians 15 years old and up. Instruments may include: piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, cornet, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuna, electric bass, drums, timpani. Two participation options are available: (1) Register for the full year, attend rehearsals and play in all 4 concerts, or (2) 'Pay As You Go' by registering to attend rehearsals and play in specific concerts. Prospective (new) band members must observe a rehearsal and be approved by the conductor prior to registration.
