The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County is a 37-member business-led public body appointed by the Board of Supervisors and is responsible for workforce development policy in the county. Its mission is to promote a workforce development system that responds to the needs of the business community, job seekers, workers and youth. The Workforce Development Board’s Business and Economic Development Division provides research and analysis on up-to-date labor market information to employers and the workforce, coordination with economic development entities and other local, state and regional agencies to assist the workforce and to help businesses grow and prosper.

The Workforce Development Board sponsors the Contra Costa Small Business Development Center, which provides assistance to growing companies and aspiring entrepreneurs.

In addition, it oversees the EASTBAY Works One Stop Career Centers. The four centers, located in Brentwood, Concord, Pittsburg and San Pablo, serve job seekers and employers who are recruiting workers. That website is www.eastbayworks.com.
