

Safe Routes to School Program Leader

STREET SMARTS PROGRAM
(2) Part Time Temporary Positions (approximately 12-15 hours per week)
COMPENSATION
$20.00 per hour. This position does not receive paid leave or benefits.
Under direct supervision of the Street Smarts Program Coordinator and Transportation Division Manager, this position conducts school site and community outreach to elementary and middle school students (grades K-8) on topics relating to bicycle and pedestrian safety. The two (2) part-time, temporary positions are funded by the federal Safe Routes to School program. The temporary positions will last twenty months (from March 2010 to November 2011). This position may also assist with other duties including special events, marketing and special projects. This position is assigned up to a 15-hour work week which includes some evenings and weekends.

EXPERIENCE
At least 1 or more years of college preferred and two years experience in a capacity working in a school, community outreach or recreation setting, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
