Back to School Pool Party

The Parks & Community Services Department held the third annual Middle School Back to School Pool Party on July 31, 2019 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the San Ramon Olympic Pool. There were 201 participants who signed up for the event, 98% of which were San Ramon residents.  Participants had the opportunity to meet other middle schoolers and make new friends through ice breaker activities such as a floss off and water balloon volleyball.  The winner of the floss off and water balloon volleyball got giant size candy bars to share with their friends. At the pool party, there was a DJ mixing up the beats, fun glow sticks used to create a party atmosphere. The middle schoolers played giant games, ran through the splash ‘n dash, and enjoyed the diving boards. Sam the Crow made a special appearance to greet the participants. A new feature of the event this year included different wrist bands for each school. This allowed participants to easily identify future classmates and friends.

Many of the parents were pleased and expressed that their child enjoyed the event. One Iron Horse Middle School student said, “This is my first time at this event and it is really fun.”
