Crow Canyon Trail to Harvest Trail Hike

In partnership with Sports Basement, the City of San Ramon led 46 participants on an out-and-back hike through the Sycamore Valley Open Space South via the Crow Canyon and Harvest Trails. It was a beautiful morning for a hike, with the temperature in the mid-70s and a nice breeze. Before the walk, Sports Basement offered participants coffee, bagels, waters, and a make-your-own trail mix bar. The hike was a great opportunity for participants to experience trailblazing a path through the rolling hills of the Sycamore Valley Open Space to the Harvest Trail, which runs along the ridge of the regional park. Once at the summit, participants took time for pictures and questions, and were amazed at the beautiful views the vista offered. After the hike, Sports Basement organized a participant drawing that included giveaways such as hats, thermal water bottles, and a new set of hiking poles. A volunteer from the East Bay Regional Park District’s Search and Rescue team also gave a presentation on wildlife safety which participants enjoyed very much.

This concludes the 2019 Sports Basement led hikes however, staff looks forward to offering additional guided hikes through the partnership with Sports Basement in the future.
