ALAMO CREEK – HIDDEN VALLEY OPEN SPACE TRAIL WALK

On May 4th, the Open Space Advisory Committee in partnership with the Parks and Community Services Department hosted a walk on the Alamo Creek Trail and Hidden Valley Open Space. Jian Yao and Seth Adams, members of the Open Space Committee, led the walk which began and ended at Dougherty Valley High School. Thirty-four people attended the hike that showcased the beautiful creek trail and spectacular views of the Hidden Valley Open Space, all the while being treated to interesting facts regarding the trail’s history and natural elements. Once on the Hidden Valley Ridge Trail, participants enjoyed amazing views of the Dougherty Valley and asked many questions regarding land use and land conservation efforts in the Dougherty Valley. Participants then hiked back down the hill and continued to Dougherty Valley High School on the remainder of the Alamo Creek Trail. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, and many mentioned they looked forward to future Open Space Hikes/Walks.
