 Colored Pencil Society

On display until December 20, 2019

The current art exhibit is titled Explorations in Colored Pencil VIII organized by Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), District Chapter 210. The show features 42 works by 17 artists and is open meaning anyone can submit their work as long as it is at least 75% colored pencil.

Founded in 1990, the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) is a nonprofit organization for colored pencil enthusiasts working to promote colored pencils as a fine art medium by sponsoring exhibitions and workshops, being involved in product research, and educating the public in general.

District Chapter 210 - San Jose was founded in 1996 by Shirley Dominiak. Her tireless efforts brought a group together from the Northern California area.  This area runs from south of the Bay Area north to the Oregon border and east to the Nevada border.  Many diverse and wonderful artists are members of District Chapter 210.

The organization strives to elevate the medium, educate others about it, and encourage innovation with its use.  They accomplish this through, sponsoring an annual exhibition for colored pencil artists, promoting colored pencil art and artists, sponsoring workshops, sponsoring community education through exhibits at festivals and demonstrations for region art organizations.
