The San Ramon Police Department budget supports 69 police officers, 20 civilian employees, 40 volunteers, 7 Police Chaplains and 7 Explorers in the delivery of police services. Nearly, 80 percent of the department's budget is for personnel costs and the budget is primarily supported through the city’s General Fund. In addition to the General Fund, the Department receives over $100,000 in federal and state grants and close to $500,000 in state funding, levies and fines.

Finance is responsible for effective and efficient management of the Police Department's financial and other resources. Related to this mission are three goals:

  1. To ensure our employees have the best possible tools we can afford to perform their duties.
