Spring Break Camp

Paint Masters Camp
Instructor: Kim Zmarzla
Does your child love to paint? In this class we will use wild and wacky tools to paint with, and fun and lively colors from shiny paint to glitter paint and more! We will paint on paper and make some creations that need painting too. We will host an art show on the last day of class!

$25 Materials Fee payable to the instructor on the first day.

Mad Science:  Future Geniuses

Inspire young minds with the hands-on science program! Tailored for pre-school and kindergarteners, this camp will use the scientific method to uncover the mysteries of motion and energy. Old MacDonald had a farm and so does San Ramon! Come enjoy a week of camp at Forest Home Farms, City of San Ramon's Historic Park. We'll learn about farm life, take nature walks, visit the chickens and sheep, explore organic gardens, enjoy making homemade butter. An old fashion tractor ride on the farm will be provided. Many farm related games, arts & crafts, story time andmore!! Potty trained required.$25 Materials fee.

Fun with Science and Engineering Preschool Camp

Have fun building hands-on projects and performing science experiments! Example activities include building a simple electric circuit or running lab experiments in the Color Lab. Students will learn about cause and effect, properties of materials, patterns, and cycles. All project and lab materials will be provided and each student will be able to take home completed projects.

This fun class is the perfect introduction to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) through play and exploration. Students will have the opportunity to experiment, create, observe, and make predictions in a safe, nurturing environment.  New projects! $35 Materials Fee

KinderBOTS Camp

Spend a week building your child's creativity through science and technology! Designed exclusively for younger children, our KinderBOTS program has a strong focus on introducing simple engineering concepts to tiny tots in a fun, hands-on way! What is a PULLEY? Where do we see it? Can I build one?  Children will be provided with a kit and a computer to work on-small class size ensures plenty of help, guidance and one-on-one attention. All children will be taught how to program their robot using simple drag-and-drop programming.

Mad Science:  Into the Garden

In this camp preschoolers will learn all about how their gardens grow, from the very first seedling,  to the important roles of sun and rain, to the amazing plants and flowers that sprout and bloom. They will also get acquainted with the many insect inhabitants of their gardens, and how those insects help make their gardens so beautiful. Campers will add daily to a mural reflecting what they have discovered.  Materials Fee:  $24

AnimatED Jr: SCRATCH Animation Camp

Create fun interactive stories with SCRATCH Jr! Developed at MIT with asimple interface using drag-and drop blocks that teaches children to express themselves with a computer. Our custom designed curriculum ensures that children are introduced to logic and sequencing - building blocks for digital literacy along with emphasizing core skills like language and math. Each child will be provided with a computer/tablet to use with complete guidance from the teacher while completing their projects.

Become a junior Mad Scientist! This new camp is a great introduction to science. Preschoolers explore their sense of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Children use a magnifying glass to discover the world of creepy crawly creatures. Explore the science of the sea and the fascinating creatures that live there. Campers become paleontologists by searching for fossils and participating in a mini dinosaur dig. Finally, take an exciting mission with Mad Science to explore the planets, moons and stars.
