San Ramon LogoAbout Sign Permits

What is a Sign Permit?

The community has established sign regulations in Chapter IV of the Zoning Ordinance to provide a minimum standard to promote economic viability and enhance the community’s appearance by regulating elements such as the design, illumination, number, placement, and the size of signage.

A sign permit is used to verify whether proposed signage meets the sign regulations established in Chapter IV of the Zoning Ordinance.

Decision-Making Process

A sign permit is reviewed through the Architectural Review process.  The Zoning Administrator will review applications to determine the appropriate review process either through an administrative staff level review or through the Architectural Review Board (ARB).
