Incident: CANCEL Attempted Abduction; 15-2694
Date: Sept 14, 2015
Time: 3:11 pm
Location: Davona Drive near Northland Ave

On Sept 14th 2015, the San Ramon Police began investigating a reported attempted abduction of a 13 year old female juvenile.  During the preliminary investigation the incident appeared to be a legitimate crime.  We put forth a heavy presence of officers in the area to protect our community and to attempt to identify the suspect.

During the follow-up investigation, and additional interviews of the alleged victim, some discrepancies were revealed.  Eventually, we learned that the juvenile fabricated an incident that never occurred.

The San Ramon Police Department takes reports of criminal activity very seriously.  A reported crime against a child is a top priority.  We have to investigate these situations fully in order to protect our children and community.  It’s unfortunate that a scare in the community was raised by this fabricated incident.  The San Ramon PD would like to thank those in the community and in law enforcement for information provided in an effort to assist in the investigation.

Residential Burglary - Vehicle of Interest
Case #15-2526

On Friday, August 28th, 2015, a home on Wrangler Road was burglarized between 9:15am and 3:55pm. The burglar(s) entered through an unlocked rear sliding door and carefully stole jewelry and iPads from the residence.  The home was not ransacked.

When the victim left her home at 9:15am, she noticed a smaller SUV (likely a Nissan Rogue) parked across the street from her residence. She also noticed a partially torn off florescent orange sticker (as if the vehicle had been recently tagged with a “72 Hour Notice” sticker) was on the driver’s side window of the vehicle.  There was one male occupant in the vehicle.

The vehicle (click here to view bulletin and photo) was captured on a neighbor’s video surveillance (Video shows Eastern time and is three hours ahead).  The victim confirmed this was the same vehicle she saw.
