The San Ramon Teen Council is a group of 21 teens appointed by the City Council to:

• Advise and inform staff and Parks and Community Services Commission on the various issues relating to the teens, outlining the needs of the population.
• Provide recommendations to staff and Commission on teen programs and policies relating to teen recreation services.
• Appoint appropriate sub-committees as necessary to further the work of the teen program mission and the efforts of the department and the Teen Council.
• Receive input from the teen population in San Ramon, including input from other organizations and individuals on issues relevant to the teen population.
• Act as a liaison for teen issues to governmental and private organizations.
• Advocate teen issues within the entire community.
• Identify problems of teen services and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Be a channel of communication between the staff and the teen population.
• Provide feedback to staff on the assessment of current and future needs of the teen population for the purpose of program planning.

Committees of the Teen Council

Community Outreach
The goal of this committee is to successfully reach out to the teens in San Ramon and develop their overall community awareness. This goal can be fulfilled by this committee by providing opportunities for teens to be exposed to new ideas and promote their own views.

Programming Committee
The Programming Committee works with the San Ramon Parks & Community Services Department to discuss programs, courses, events, and other activities that should be offered for teens. The committee also will assist in planning various events for the new San Ramon Teen Center, The Loft, and other locations throughout the city.

Public Relations
The goal of the Public Relations Committee is to spread the word about the Teen Council. The committee plans and executes promotions for the Teen Council and its events. These promotions may include: website, distribution of flyers, creating T-shirts, promoting Teen Council at all San Ramon schools, and other opportunities in the community.

Teen Council Members

Katherine Zhang ( Teen Council Chair) - Currently a Senior at Dougherty Valley High School. She likes to spend her free time hanging out with friends, playing basketball and spending time with her family. As Chair, she hopes to make a strong impact in representing the voice of all teens in San Ramon.

Erik Adcock - I am currently a junior at Monte Vista High School, who enjoys playing competitive golf. I also play tennis, as well as being an avid member of the Monte Vista Speech and Debate team.

Sai Avala - I am Sai Avala and I am currently in the 11th grade at Dougherty Valley High School. I am a professional Indian dancer and one day I would like to become a success in the financial industry.

Michelle Choi - My name is Michelle Choi and I am a junior at Monte Vista High School. I enjoy reading, playing cello, and lazying around.

Dorothy Chow - Hi my name is Dorothy Chow. This would be my first year in teen council and I am SO ready to have an awesome year!

Hannah Dittman - I am an optimistic person and glad to be a part of teen council. I hope to make a positive impact on the community.

Lucas Ho - 5th year in TC! Has lived in San Ramon since birth. Fan of LeBron Einstein, love to be Youth Hoops and Special Olympics asst coach.

Ashley Jensen - Hey I'm Ashley! I'm a Senior at Cal High and I'm super crazy involved in leadership and the school newspaper. I'm hoping to attend UCLA in the fall and study political science and communications!

Bhumika Kukreja - My name is Bhumika Kukreja. I am a sophomore at California High School. I play tennis and write in my spare time. I hope to make a difference.

Jennie Kim - Hi, I'm Jennie Kim, and I'm a junior at Dougherty Valley. I enjoy music, photography, and hanging out. This is my first year on Teen Council and I look forward to contributing to the community in this way.

Jordan Maler - I am a Junior at Dougherty Valley High School and Vice-President of my class. This is my first year as a member of Teen Council and I look forward to being a part of this experience.

Arya Minaie - Hi, I'm Arya. I'm a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. There I play football and run track and am currently Senior Class Vice President.

Saundarya Mehra - Hey, I'm Saundarya Mehra, currently a sophomore and class secretary of California High School. I love meeting new people and hanging out with my family and friends. I have been playing basketball and soccer for the past 3 years and am always open to trying new things!

Ambika Munaganuru - Hi I'm Ambika Munaganuru. I love to read, write, and play the piano. My biggest dream is to become a pediatrician.

Ainesh Pandey - Hi, I'm Ainesh Pandey, a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School.  This is my first year on the Teen Council, and I hope to do the best I can on it and have lots of fun along the way!

Sana Sareshwala - My name is Sana Sareshwala and I'm a junior at Cal High. I have moved over 7 times in my life, ranging in places.

Shekhar Sharma - I am a junior at cal high and I love to have fun, but I know when to be serious. I am also a very charismatic person.over the country. I'm an ardent ice skater and love roller coasters and zip lining.

Helen Sun - I am a senior at California High School and first-time member of Teen Council. I am interested in biology and play the flute for our school band. If you need to find me, I can be spotted frequently around the San Ramon Olympic Pool, where I swim for a year-round swim team.

Sanjana Yarlagadda - I amSanjanaYarlagadda andI am a sophomore at Dougherty Valley HighSchool. I enjoy playing tennis and swimming.My goal is to work on Wall Street in a financial services industry.

Nitin Yenigalla - Nitin Yenigalla is a leader on campus and within the city. This year he is the Chair of Community Outreach for the SRTC and is the ASB Treasurer at Cal High. He likes to hang out with friends and watch sports.
