3. PUBLIC COMMENT
4. UNFISHISHED BUSINESS
4.1 Transportation Commuter Fairs/Events - Update
Darlene updated the committee on her efforts to market/educate the San Ramon employers (outside of Bishop Ranch) on using commute alternatives by signing up for incentives through the 511 Contra Costa programs. Her goal this year is to target new employers, such as San Ramon Medical Center and Courtyard by Marriott. Also, she mentioned about holding several fairs with previous employers and new employers this April and May.
4.2 2007 Spare the Air Promotion – Vanpool Program
Darlene mentioned that she will be meeting with Don Talley from MarkOne to create a flier to promote an incentive for the Vanpool Program. The incentive during the Spare the Air Season is available to the first 3 "new" vanpools with an origin or destination of Contra Costa County. During the months of July – October 2007 this special incentive will provide 3 "new" vanpools with 3 months of their vanpool leasing cost only (not to exceed $1500.00 per month). For these 3 "new" vanpools their first 3 months of vanpool fare will be paid to the vanpool leasing company, not to the driver.
Promotion/marketing for this incentive will start in mid May 2007 and go through October 2007. Darlene will work with the following agencies/companies to help promote this incentive VPSI, Enterprise Rideshare, and 511 Regional Rideshare.
4.3 Dougherty Valley Transit Service - Update
Darlene reminded the committee that there is service in the Dougherty Valley area which started December 16, 2006 and that service is "free" until January 31st. Marci McGuire suggested that Darlene ask County Connection for day by day numbers (December 06 – February 07) to compare the rider ship numbers (free vs. paying).
5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 TDM Work Plan 2006/2007
Darlene submitted the 2006/2007 TDM Work Plan to the committee. This work plan is broken up into quarters for fiscal year 2006/2007 and indicates all activity, meetings, and special promotions that will be taking place during that fiscal year.
5.2 TDM Report to City Council
Darlene informed the committee that the chair (Scott Hulse) will need to make a presentation to City Council regarding the TDM Advisory Committee. Staff will prepare the staff report and PowerPoint presentation (if needed). Scott seemed excited about the presentation and is looking forward to working with Darlene. The presentation will take place at one of the upcoming City Council meetings.
5.3 Bike to Work Day 2007
Darlene informed the committee that this years Bike to Work Day is on Thursday, May 17th. There was quit a discussion about promoting Bike to Work Day to San Ramon employers within Bishop Ranch. Marci McGuire works with the employers within Bishop Ranch and Darlene works with employers outside of Bishop Ranch. Between them both employers throughout San Ramon are informed of Bike to Work Day either through letters, fliers, email blasts or cold calls.
Another discussion was about energizer stations and where they should be in San Ramon. The committee agrees that San Ramon needs more energizer stations and Susan Gitlin has tentatively agreed to host an energizer station by her office park. Darlene will work with Susan as this event gets closer.
5.4 Review meeting dates 2007
Darlene asked the committee to review the dates for the upcoming TDM Advisory Committee meeting to make sure that the dates will work for them. It was agreed to re-schedule the July 3, 2007 meeting to July 17, 2007.
COMMITTEE MEMBER ITEMS
6.1 Round table discussion
Darlene brought up that Carrie Wyatt is no longer with AT&T. Both Carrie Wyatt and Alan Fitzgerald’s term ends January 31, 2007. This will leave two openings on this committee. The City Clerk’s office will be placing an ad in local newspapers. Darlene also informed the committee that a potential candidate might apply from DVC and maybe from San Ramon Regional Medical Center.
Susan Gitlin’s term is also up the end of January, but she re-applied and her application is going to Council in February.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:12 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 3, 2007 in the Transportation Conference Room, 3180 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 140.
