1. CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Marci McGuire (Chair) at 11:00 a.m.
2. REVIEW AND APPROVAL MINUTES
The minutes of the March 24, 2009 meeting were approved as written.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment.
4. UNFISHISHED BUSINESS
Darlene Amaral gave an update on her efforts to market/educate the Southwest Contra Costa employers on using commute alternatives by signing up for the 511 Contra Costa incentive programs. Kevin Horan and Susan Gitlin both expressed interest in hosting a commuter fair.
Action item: Need to follow up with DVC San Ramon and PS Business Park. This will be an ongoing agenda item.
Darlene gave an update on Bike to Work Day 2009. She informed the committee that there were 36 energizer stations set up throughout Contra Costa County, with six (6) of them located in Southwest Contra Costa County. Approximately 2,000 bicyclists stopped for some refreshments and picked up information regarding the 511 Contra Costa programs. Marci McGuire also gave an update on her AM & PM energizer stations. She stated a total of 700 bikers, walkers, and runners came by her stations.
Action item: No action needs to be taken.
Darlene informed the committee that there are approximately 77 employers (totaling 11,428 employees) registered to participate in the survey. She also handed out a “draft” flyer advertising the survey to be posted in break rooms or on bulletin boards for the employees to see. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be sent out to several different consultants, including the 511 Rideshare Agency by the end of the month. A discussion took place about holding a special meeting in September to review the bids and to select a consulting company.
Action item: Need to schedule a special meeting date in September. This will be an ongoing agenda item for 2009.
Darlene reminded the committee that County Connection has changed several routes and route numbers. She passed around some County Connection schedules to make sure they all had the most recent schedules at their worksite. Marci gave an update on the possible BART strike, and provided a link for more information www.bartlabor.com.
Action item: Darlene to keep committee members updated on any future changes.
5. NEW BUSINESS
Darlene handed out some copies of the flier for the Great Race Challenge. This year’s challenge runs from August 1st through September 30th. Last year AT&T won in two categories and helped contribute to a savings of over 35,000 pounds of C02!
Action item: Update committee on results at the next scheduled meeting in October.
Darlene informed the committee that a date needs to be selected for the TDM report to Council. The committee voted last year to do the TDM report in October. As of right now, Marci will do the presentation to Council. Darlene will coordinate a date with her for the presentation.
Action item: Darlene to work with Marci on the presentation and bring this item back to the committee in October with an update.
5.3 San Ramon Bike Map
Darlene handed out a “draft” copy of the San Ramon Bike Map. She informed the committee that is a City of San Ramon only bike map. This map is being done in-house and it is a work in progress. The committee is encouraged to make any changes and/or comments to the map. The goal is to finalize this map by the end of the year.
Action item: Darlene to follow up with the committee on any changes and/or comments. Bring this item back to the committee in October with an update.
6. COMMITTEE MEMBER ITEMS
Darlene handed out the 511 Contra Costa Countywide Program Review for 2006- 2008.
