1.         CALL TO ORDER

Committee Members Attending:   Susan Gitlin (Vice Chair), Marci McGuire, Thomas Jamison, and Ann Uawithya                                                         

Committee Members Absent:   Sandy Austin (Chair)

The meeting was called to order by Susan Gitlin (Vice Chair) at 11:03 a.m.


The minutes of the July 13, 2010 meeting were approved as written.




4.1       Transportation Commuter Fairs/Events

Darlene Amaral gave an update on her efforts to market/educate the Southwest Contra Costa employers on using commute alternatives by signing up for the 511 Contra Costa incentive programs.  She mentioned about a couple of upcoming events such as; AT&T on 10/13/10 and a Transportation Green Event in Pleasanton on 10/21/10.  There was a conversation about Bike to Work Day 2011 regarding the City of San Ramon and Bishop Ranch putting together a couple of bike workshops for the employers in San Ramon. 

Action item:  Continue discussion on the bike workshop at the January 2011 meeting. 

4.2       Vanpool Program “new” Incentive

Darlene gave an update on the “new” vanpool incentive. The new incentive will extend the passenger incentive for an additional 3 months.  New passengers will be eligible to get reimbursed 50% on their vanpool fare cost for 6 months, instead of 3 months.  This new incentive will be limited while the funding is available. To date, there has been 14 applications approved and staff has been receiving emails and phone calls from passengers and drivers.   

Action item:  Provide update at the January 2011 meeting. 

4.3       Tri Valley Resource Team on Air Quality

Darlene mentioned that the Great Race for Clean Air has ended and the winners will be announced during a conference call on 10/12/10.  The Tri Valley Resource Team is sending out surveys this week to the coordinators at each employer site, including those who participated.    

Action item:  No action needs to be taken.

5.         NEW BUSINESS

5.1      Introduce New Committee Member

Darlene introduced a new committee member Ann Uawithya from the DVC San Ramon Campus. 

Action item:  No action needs to be taken.

5.2       North Camino Ramon Specific Plan Presentation – Presentation by Lauren Barr, City of San Ramon, Senior Planner

Susan Gitlin, Vice Chair, moved this item up on the agenda.  Lauren Barr gave a PowerPoint presentation on the North Camino Ramon Specific Plan.  Mr. Barr along with Debbie Chamberlain (Planning Services Division Manager) and Phil Wong (Planning Department Director) updated the committee on the progress and plans. 

Action item:  No action needs to be taken. 


6.1       Current updates local/regional TDM related items

Darlene reminded the committee about the new 511 Contra Costa logo.  She also informed them that 511 Contra Costa is starting the FY2011/2012 TDM budget. 

A discussion took place on local transportation issues throughout the County.

The committee also discussed the January 2011 meeting and voted to have the meeting on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, instead of the first Tuesday of the month. 

7.         ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:34 p.m.  The next regular meeting is scheduled for January 11, 2011 in the Transportation Conference Room, 3180 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 145.
