1.         CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Chair Chris Weeks at 11:36 a.m.


M/S/C/U (Glaser/Weeks) to approve the March 18, 2013 meeting minutes as written




4.1       Transportation Commuter Fairs/Events

Darlene Amaral, Transportation Analyst, provided the update. She stated that this year she has scheduled several transportation commuter events. Ms. Amaral stated that she continues to attend monthly transportation events at AT&T, and is currently working with committee member Sandy Austin on transportation events that will assist the Pleasanton AT&T employees that will move into the San Ramon AT&T. Ms. Amaral stated that she is also working with Bishop Ranch on several relocations for PG&E employees. Chair Weeks stated that Bishop Ranch will also start attending transportation events at Chevron.

Action Items: Ms. Amaral to continue work on transportation events.

4.2       Bike to Work Day 2013

Ms. Amaral stated that Bike to Work Day 2013 was held on May 9, 2013. Ms. Amaral stated that Bishop Ranch, City of San Ramon, and Whole Foods collaborated together for an energizer station along the Iron Horse Trail and Bollinger Canyon Road. Ms. Amaral stated that between the 7 energizer stations within the Southwest Contra Costa region they were all provided with 511 Contra Costa supplies, and approximately 950 cyclists stopped and enjoyed refreshments and giveaways.

Action Items: None.

4.3       511 CC Countywide Employer Survey

Ms. Amaral stated that she is in talks with 511 on setting up a survey that employers can fill out, and having a consultant to compile the data. Ms. Amaral stated that the City of Pleasanton is working with 511 on an employer survey for data, employers in Pleasanton fill out the survey, and 511 provides the data to Pleasanton. Ms. Amaral stated that she wants to reduce the cost of the RFP for the survey, to focus funding on incentives for filling out the survey. Ms. Amaral stated that she would like to work with the committee on picking a week/timeframe for the survey. Ms. Amaral stated that Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) Transportation Funding for Clean Air (TFCA) funds are for employers trying to change commute habits, and not for surveying residents. Ms. Amaral stated that Measure J funds may be used for survey residents, and funding for that will not be available in the next fiscal year. Chair Weeks stated that he is interested in surveying residents commute patterns.

Action Items: Ms. Amaral to talk to 511 in regards to funding options for surveying residents.

5.        NEW BUSINESS

5.1       Elect Vice Chair

The TDM Advisory Committee Vice Chair will be voted on at the next regularly scheduled meeting due to lack of all committee members present at the meeting.

Action Items: M/S/C/U (Weeks/Austin) to defer election of Vice Chair until the next regularly scheduled meeting (3-0).

5.2       Spare the Air 2013

Ms. Amaral stated that summer Spare the Air has commenced, and encouraged committee members to register on the Spare the Air website to receive Spare the Air Day alerts. Ms. Glaser asked if there was a phone application for Spare the Air, committee members stated that they are not sure if there is one. Ms. Amaral stated that you can receive alerts by phone, email, and text message.

6.1       Current updates local/regional TDM related items

In summary the following items were discussed:

  • Ms. Amaral stated that County Connection will start selling the Summer Youth Passes this June, the passes will be $15 for a 20 ride pass.
  • Mr. Weeks stated that the bus from San Francisco to Bishop Ranch may start running sometime in June.
  • Mr. Weeks stated that Bishop Ranch is working on creating a universal pass for County Connection, BART, and other regional transportation systems for Bishop Ranch employees.
  • Mr. Weeks stated that Bishop Ranch is adding electric vehicle charging stations that will be available for employees and for public use at $.50 per kilowatt/hour.

7.         ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:20 p.m.  The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 15, 2013 in the Transportation Conference Room, 2401 Crow Canyon Road.
