On Saturday, September 15th, a “Parks Make Life Better” event was held at Memorial Park and approximately 33 volunteers attended the event. Four projects were completed during the event giving the Park some extra attention including: • Added 20 yards of fibar to low areas throughout the playground giving the playground a fresh new appearance. • Painted approximately 600 feet of metal rail fencing near the Dog Park entrance, which will keep the fence protected and looking new for 3-5 years. • Cleaned and sealed the concrete and granite on the Park’s Memorial Monument with a new coat of sealer, which will protect the monument from sun and rain. • Cleaned and painted garbage can lids.
The next Parks Make Life Better event is scheduled on October 20th at Piccadilly Square Park. If you would like information on how to participate in future PMLB events please visit: https://citylights.volunteerhub.com/
