The City of San Ramon Presents… The Art & Wind Film Series 2021

Due to the COVID concerns of hosting a large-scale event like the annual Art & Wind Festival, the City of San Ramon is pleased to present a series of three, WIND themed films at Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center this year for 2021…

Kite Runner

Friday, 5/28/21 at 6:30pm – The Kite Runner (Foreign Film)

Afghani immigrant Amir is summoned from his California home to Pakistan by Rahim Khan, an old, dying friend of his father. As a boy in Afghanistan, wealthy Amir was best friends with servant's son Hassan, but when Hassan was brutally assaulted by a local bully, Amir was too scared to save him and has been tormented by guilt ever since. Rated PG-13, 128 minutes. This movie contains mature content and some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Strong thematic material including war scenes, child abuse, violence, and brief strong language. Parents are urged to be cautious.

Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old balloon salesman, is about to fulfill a lifelong dream. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he flies away to the South American wilderness. But curmudgeonly Carl's worst nightmare comes true when he discovers a little boy named Russell is a stowaway aboard the balloon-powered house. Rated PG, 96 minutes.

 

Saturday, 5/29/21 at 6:30pm – Flight of the Red Balloon

Flight of the Red Balloon

As a single mother in Paris, Suzanne struggles to spend enough time with her young son, Simon, between her job voice-acting at puppet shows and handling a court case against her downstairs tenant who refuses to leave. As a result, Suzanne hires Song, a local university student, to watch Simon while she works and deals with the case. Together, Simon and Song create a vibrant world of imagination, where a red balloon follows them. Rated PG, 115 minutes, French/ English subtitles.

Seating is reserved & limited to 200 per performance to ensure social distancing between groups

     (based on the current Blueprint for a Safer Economy COVID Compliance Guidelines)

Tickets are FREE and must be received in advance by contacting San Ramon Performing Arts Box Office

All tickets will be delivered digitally-no touch (print at home or to your cell phone)

There will be no tickets available at the venue on the day of the event.

By entering the venue with your reserved seat ticket, you are acknowledging that you do not have any of the COVID conditions listed in the following screening questionnaire…

All current COVID safety protocols for indoor, movie theatres will be in place for this City of San Ramon, Art & Wind film series including;

  • Everyone will be screened upon entry to the facility by answering the following questions;
    • Have you experienced any of the following COVID-19 symptoms (pre-existing conditions exempt) in the past 48 hours?

                   Fever or Chills  /  Cough  /  Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing  /  Fatigue

                   Muscle or Body Aches  /  Headache  /  Sore Throat  /  New Loss of Taste or Smell

                   Congestion or Runny Nose  /  Diarrhea  /  Nausea or Vomiting

    • Within the past 14 days have you been in close physical contact with a person who is known to have a confirmed case of COVID-19 or anyone who has symptoms consistent with COVID-19?
    • Have you been or are you isolating or quarantining because you may have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 or are you worried that you may be sick with COVID-19?
    • Are you currently waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test because you are worried that you may be sick with COVID-19?
  • Everyone must wear face coverings at all times while in the venue
  • Use of hand sanitizer & frequent handwashing is highly recommended 
  • No food or drink will be allowed into the venue
  • Reserved seating is required to ensure social distancing space between groups
  • All tickets shall be issued in a digital format (print at home or to your cell phone) and will be scanned (no touch) upon entry.
