Saturdays feature free family activities from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Take a tour of the restored Victorian Glass House Museum on Saturday at 1:00 pm for a fee of $5 per person payable by credit card only. Children ages 3 and under are free.

Aug 10 Farm Chores
Travel back in time to experience the work that went into running a farm. Try doing some laundry the old-fashioned way, make some rope with our replica, antique machine, fill buckets -pumping the water by hand and plant some seeds with our seed planter.
Aug 17 Scavenger Hunt – Geocaching
Have you caught the geocaching bug? Come on a modern day scavenger hunt to find the geocache located at the farm and learn how to use a compass.
Aug 24 Back to School
It's time to head back to school! Learn what a school day was like in the early 1900’s and practice your penmanship with pen and ink.
Sept 7 Up close with Animals
Come meet and learn about a variety of animals that would have been common to find on a farm. You will have a chance to meet them up close and pet them.
Sept 14 Apples Tasting & Juice Pressing
It is apple season! Come taste a variety of apples grown organically and help crush them in our apple press to make fresh juice.
Sept 21 Tractor Day
Learn all about tractors. Take a behind the scenes look at tractor restoration. Tour the tractor museum and look inside the machine shop where the restoration takes place. See hit and miss engines in action and take a ride on a tractor.
Sept 28 Soap Making
Learn the art of soap making using natural ingredients and fall scents to make your own soap to take home.

Oct 19 Rope Making & Hay Hoisting
Make rope the old fashioned way with our replica antique machine and use it to create some fun and useful knots. Then use an old fashioned machine to test your strength hoisting a hale bale and then see how easy it is to use pulleys to help with farm work.
Oct 26 Trick or Treat on the Farm
Come in your Halloween costume for a Trick or treat adventure. Travel around the farm to different stations for activities and treats to take home!
Nov 2 Weaving & Wool
Sheep grow a fluffy coat of wool every year! Learn more about this gift and the sheep it comes from. Herding demonstrations on the hour meet a sheep up close; learn about the process of turning a sheep’s fleece into something we can use.
Nov 9 Beautiful Kernels of Corn
Come see the rainbow of colors of Indian corn. Learn how to shuck corn, using the hand and mechanical shucking equipment. Then make a fun craft with the corn kernels.
Nov 16 Candle Making
These days, candles are for special occasions. But in the 1800’s candles served as the only source of light after dark! Children would make candles to help their families by collecting and melting wax from beehives. Learn the process of candle making and make your own candle to take home.
Nov 23 Bread & Jam
Before there were grocery stores people had to make their own staples at home and preserve them through canning. Learn about the canning process, taste some of the jam varieties that Ruth Boone made, make your own butter and bread to take home and bake.

Make your own hand-crafted wreath to decorate for the holidays. Savor the scent of fresh greenery we will gather and use from around the Farm.

Enjoy an old-fashioned holiday gathering at Forest Home Farm Historic Park. Have a traditional holiday family experience including visits with our Victorian Santa and his reindeer, old-fashioned ornament making, a puppet show, holiday entertainment and refreshments.
