Memorial Program

Join the City of San Ramon as we honor fallen service members on Memorial Day 2023 at Memorial Park.  The Memorial Program will last for approximately 1 hour.

• Presentation of Colors & Pledge of Allegiance by San Ramon Police Department Honor Guard
• "Star Spangled Banner" by Olympia Fields Brass
• Memorial Day Remarks by San Ramon Vice Mayor, Mark Armstrong
• Moment of Silence for America's Fallen Heroes 
• "The Armed Forces Medley" by Olympia Fields Brass
• Veterans Recognition & Presentation of Challenge Coins, San Ramon City Council
• "America the Beautiful" by Olympia Fields Brass
• Remarks by Jaci Beering, Blue Star Moms Chapter 101
• Poetry Reading "We Hold THeir Honor in Our Hearts" by Jenyth Jo Gearhart-Utchen, San Ramon Poet Laureate
• "The Navy Hymn (Eternal Father)" by Olympia Fields Brass
• Reading "In Flanders Fields" by Michelle Lee, The American Legion Post 246
• "Taps" performed by Bob Gast, Olympia Fields Brass, American Legion Post 237
• Retire the Colors by San Ramon Police Department Honor Guard
• Closing Remarks & Placing Flags

Commemorative Field of Flags

The Commemorative Field of Flags provides an opportunity for community members to have a temporary flag placed in honor of a fallen service member or deceased Veteran at the Memorial Day Program.  FLAG REQUESTS ARE NO LONGER BEING TAKEN VIA ONLINE FORM. PLEASE ATTEND THE MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY TO PLACE A FLAG IN THE FIELD OF FLAGS.
