PG&E In-line Inspection Station on Dougherty Rd & Staging Site on Alcosta Blvd

Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) is nearing completion of construction of their In‐Line Inspection (ILI) Station on Dougherty Road south of Old Ranch Road, and will begin staging equipment to be used in conjunction with the testing facility, on their property on Alcosta Boulevard soon.

PRESTO Autonomous Vehicle Shuttle Service Open to the Public in Bishop Ranch

On April 24, Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA), in partnership with Beep, Inc., and Bishop Ranch and with support from the City of San Ramon, launched the first autonomous shuttle program open to the public in the Bay Area.

Bishop Ranch Chevron Park Property: Study Session Held

On September 28, 2022, Sunset Development announced the purchase of Chevron’s 92-acre, 1.3-million-square-foot “Chevron Park” campus in Bishop Ranch off Bollinger Canyon Road. On December 6, 2022, the San Ramon Planning Commission, as part of its regular meeting, held a Study Session to gather input on the property.

San Ramon Among 19 Cities Awarded Helen Putnam Award for Excellence in Intergovernmental Collaboration

The League of California Cities announced that Contra Costa County and 19 area cities and towns, including the City of San Ramon, won the esteemed 2022 Helen Putnam Award for Excellence in Intergovernmental Collaboration for the A3 Community Crisis Response initiative, which seeks to transform the region’s behavioral health care and emergency response system.

San Ramon's Next Police Chief: Denton Carlson
07/21/2022
Following a nationwide search, Denton Carlson has been selected as San Ramon’s next Chief of Police. Carlson currently serves as Captain with the San Ramon Police Department, and has more than 24 years of experience as a peace officer—including 20 within the San Ramon community. He will take the Oath of Office at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 26 at San Ramon City Hall.

New Alarm Registration Program Begins Friday, July 1

The City of San Ramon is launching a new Alarm Registration Program. Beginning Friday, July 1, every San Ramon residence or business with an alarm system must obtain an alarm permit. Permits are free and free annual renewal is required.

Crow Canyon Specific Plan Update - Public Review Draft Now Available

The City of San Ramon has released the Public Review Draft of the Crow Canyon Specific Plan (CCSDP) Update. On May 19, 2020, the Planning Commission held the first of a series of public hearings. Review by the Planning Commission and City Council will continue through the summer, with adoption of the Plan anticipated in Summer 2020.
